This unique expression showcases the harmonious marriage of malt whiskies from Chichibu and Komagatake distilleries. After careful selection, these exceptional malts were matured at the Chichibu Distillery, where they underwent a meticulous maturation process spanning over five years. During this time, the whiskies were aged in a variety of cask types, including Bourbon Barrels, American White Oak, and Sherry Oak. The story behind this collaboration began in 2015 when Chichibu Distillery and Mars Shinshu Distillery embarked on an innovative spirit exchange program. Chichibu Distillery shared its new make spirit with Mars Shinshu Distillery, and both distilleries matured the spirit in their respective locations. This exchange allowed the whiskies to develop unique characteristics influenced by their individual maturation environments, resulting in a whisky of remarkable depth and complexity.
