The Kagoshima 25 Years Old is a very rare Japanese whisky, crafted at the now-closed Kagoshima distillery, a historical site in Japan's whisky heritage. Distilled in May 1984, this whisky is a remarkable blend of five carefully selected sherry casks, which were vatted together and allowed to marry for an additional five years before bottling in October 2009. This limited release , with the distillery no longer in operation, makes it a true collector's gem.
On the nose, this whisky reveals a refined bouquet of tropical fruits, soft florals, and a touch of seasoned oak. The palate is equally complex, offering layers of dried fruits, honey, toasted nuts, and subtle spices, all enriched by the sherry cask influence. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a whisper of smoke, showcasing the masterful aging process.
Limited to just 3,018 numbered bottles, the Kagoshima 25 Years Old is a rare opportunity to experience one of Japan's most elusive whiskies.
